To venture out again!

Wow - I have had 13 days of not doing any exercises and I am craving getting back into action! When the doctor said I would be out of action for three days -he lied. When I asked him how long before I could get training again -he said about a week. Anyway I feel like I can start training again now two weeks later!


Ok-ok!!!!!


Tomorrow - I jump right into my schedule, I might just not go hard out or the lenght of time allocated , but will get into it!
I'm reading a book called ' Slow Fat Triathlete" and I am loving it!! Thank you so much Jayne for writing it! I hope I can inspire some people like you have me!

Taking a break!

The training is coming on, however I  have had to take a break. My vasectomy has taken me on a painful little journey and there is only one solution- rest! I am rather sore and pretty bruised, black and blue if truth be told. I had a local and the procedure was rather speedy and over in no time at all. I went to work the next day, but had to come home- it was just to uncomfortable! Anyway- day two today and I am feeling better,although still tender. I feel strange not doing my training, my legs especialy are wanting to go for a run, they fell unsettled and fidgity. Oh! well I'll be back!

Enough already! I'm getting it! Well soon this will pass and I will be pounding the streets again. Anyway till next time cheers.

What a lovely day!

Hi guys, today Caroline and I went to a RPM class at our gym and then swam for half an hour! It was a great feeling knowing the exercise for the day was done and by the time we got home , the kids were just getting up.

I,ve been reading about the ironman race and reading peoples stories about it and to be honest, I,m in awe of anyone who has done one, and nervous about my own atempt!


This picture above is to help me get into loving water! Swimming has been very difficult for me - I have to change my perspective about the swim section and start feeling the emotion of a champion swimmer. For too long I have felt like well ............... That


Its all going to change! The fitter I,m feeling the more confident I am becoming! Anyway Caroline has been great in that she has swum with me a few times. She is a fantastic swimmer and has taught me so many things and encouraged me to better my form.

Base training well on its way!

Wow! the winter weather has forced me to train indoors lately and that is a challenge. I have set up my bike in my room here and am watching a movie on my laptop.
This is how rugged up I have had to be to go running. Yesterday Caroline and I woke up at 6 am to go swimming at our local gym, only to discover absolutely no more room in the pool! My gosh how many people are training before work? Anyway , it is a challenge to fit in all the training between normal life in our family. I look forward to better weather but in the meantime , making the best of the oppertunities.

Sexy Socks!

Hi guys!
Went for a run in my new compression socks and they rock! Looks aside they feel great!
The plan was for an hour run , however due to the fact of not running for two weeks due to injury and sickness, I ran about 6km before my ITB flaired up and I felt pain so I just walked home and iced it!
I feel great and it was good getting out again!

First ride!

Hi guys
Today after work I actually took my new bike out for the first ride. It was amazing and I really have missed riding. I have such great memories of riding in Christchurch that were flooding my mind as I glided along. It is going to be a challenge to get the riding in on these roads, which are full of traffic . I guess with some trial an error , I will find the best time to train.
I rode with my new socks that are long and squeeze your calves and they felt good! Finally I feel like I am starting to make a dent in my dream, I have been so patient waiting for my stuff that in a sense it kills the passion for a time, but when you have a session like Ive just had -boy life feels good. I rode for an hour and didn't go to far only 27 km. It is a start!!!!
